Memorials may be directed to Good Samaritan Hospice–Hastings.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com.  Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is serving the family.

Connie was born on July 2, 1947, in Wichita, Kansas, to Clarence and Ella (Peshek) Mowery. She graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1965 and married her high school sweetheart, John C. Meyer, on December 12, 1965. Together, they shared 60 years of marriage and raised two children, Christopher and Carrie.

Connie will be remembered for her generous spirit and gentle heart. She had a natural gift of caring for others and quietly helped anyone in need without hesitation. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who cherished their time at “Grandma Meyer’s house.” Whether through a warm meal, a listening ear, or simple presence, Connie made those around her feel valued and loved.

She was artistic and creative, finding joy in drawing and painting. Her creativity reflected her thoughtful nature and appreciation for beauty in everyday life.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents (Clarence and Ella), stepfather (Gene Bangert), father in-laws (William Meyer and Melvin Wade), mother in-law (Jessie Wade), brother (Michael Bangert), sister in-law (Ladonna Holsten), brother in-law (Ron Holsten), and brother in-law (Jerry Meyer).

Connie is survived by her husband, John; her children, Chris (Lillian) Meyer and Carrie (Lonnie) Kort; her grandchildren, Joshua (Antonia) Kort, Benjamin (Ariel) Kort, Trenton (Abigail) Kort, Nathan Meyer, and Emily Meyer; and her great-grandchildren, Carter, Collin, Creighton, Ava, Judd, and Zachary Kort.

She is also survived by her brothers, Don (Connie) Bangert, Butch (Mary) Bangert, and Dale (Kate) Bangert; her sisters, Cathy (Andy) Jaborski, Sue (Joe) Bockerman, and Sherry Bangert; sister-in-law Pat Meyer; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Connie’s legacy is one of kindness, quiet strength, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
