John (Jack) Ray Mohlman

John R. (Jack) Mohlman, 81, Blue Hill, Nebraska passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.  Graveside service will be Friday, January 2, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at the Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska.  Visitation will be Friday, January 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska.  Memorials can be directed to the Nebraska Youth Camp.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com.  Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is serving the family.

John was born on May 24, 1944, to John F. and Christina L. (Jones) Mohlman in Adams County Northwest of Blue Hill.  He graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1962.  He married Connie K. Berry on June 27, 1965, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska.  He farmed north of Blue Hill until retiring and moving into Blue Hill.  He attended the Church of Christ in Hastings, Nebraska and was an avid husker fan.  He and his wife played a significant role in over 100 children’s lives serving as foster parents for over ten years.

John is survived by two sons, Eric (Kim) Mohlman, Ayr, Nebraska, Kurtis (Janette) Mohlman, Abilene, Kansas; one daughter, Lisa (Bryan) Jurrens, Hastings, Nebraska; one sister, Jani (Drew) Heady, Hastings, Nebraska; grandchildren and spouses, Rayna and Creighton Ochsner, Cassidy Jurrens, Kaitlyn and Tanner Cate, Chase and Audri Hofferber, Kyra Mohlman, John and Clara Mohlman, Christina and Shayla Cochran, Jacob Mohlman, Catherine and Willard Johnson; great grandchildren, Asher, Cooper and Mabel Ochsner, Nolan and Callan Cate, Willard and Eliana Johnson.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; two grandsons, Kristopher and Korey Larsen; one great grandson, Canaan Cate.
